Camas

Camas is best known for its small-town feel, excellent school district, and beautiful lakes & hiking trails. Camas is the most expensive city in Clark County by a very wide margin.

The city is known for it’s “small-town-feel,” beautiful homes and views, and highly-rated schools and has gained in popularity by both Clark County locals and people moving to the area.

Camas is also home to the old paper mill, owned by Georgia Pacific. Contrary to some online speculation, the paper mill no longer makes the city smell bad. At the height of it’s operation in the 1900’s the mill employed nearly 3,000 people. The papermill is so deeply rooted in the town’s history that Camas High School’s mascot is the Camas Paper Makers. You can read more about the Camas paper mill’s history here, compliments of Lacamas Magazine.

Camas has the highest median and average home sale price in Clark County by far, earning itself the title of the most affluent city in Clark County. It has the strongest luxury home market in the county by far.

Camas is poised for growth over the next two decades, as they expect another 10,000 residents to be added by 2040. To accommodate this growth, the City of Camas has created the ‘North Shore Development‘, which will include housing, commercial properties, parks, green space, school(s), small businesses, and more.

You can watch this video we made about the North Shore Development to get more info on the future of Camas.

Camas has a considerable number of subdivisions/neighborhoods within it, and nearly all of those subdivisions could fit in one of the six areas within Camas below.
